JeanClaude Camille Franois Van Varenberg , professionally known as JeanClaude Van Damme and abbreviated as JCVD, is a Belgian actor, martial artist, screenwriter, film producer, and director best known for his martial arts action films. The most successful of these films include Bloodsport , Kickboxer , Lionheart , Double Impact , Universal Soldier , Hard Target , Street Fighter , Timecop , Sudden Death , JCVD and The Expendables.

Van Damme was born JeanClaude Camille Franois Van Varenberg, onOctober 1960, in BerchemSainteAgathe, Brussels, Belgium, the son of Eliana and Eugne Van Varenberg, who was an accountant.
